Leslie Chew - Mixing Engineer & Studio Designer
Universal • Unconventional • Ultimately Creative
The ability to create a productive environment and inspirational atmosphere to enable a project to come into its own is the core of Leslie's philosophy. Whether it’s as an engineer, designer, or consultant, it's what keeps clients coming back again & again.
The engineer behind the recording and mixing controls for many artists, Leslie's extensive client history ranges from his early days on tour with Roberta Flack and Todd Rundgren to mixing music for TV's original reality show Survivor to recording and mixing albums for the legendary jazz/fusion group Hiroshima. Today, Leslie is equally at home recording and mixing in a large commercial facility or in an artist's private studio. Leslie has recorded, mixed and/or mastered over 100 albums, including Grammy nominated titles.
After spending over twenty years in recording studios, Leslie knows how they work best. He has designed systems to fit a wide variety of needs for commercial music, post production facilities and private artist studios. His studio installations have been nominated for TEC awards and he is delighted to say that many of his clients have garnered nominations and won multiple awards from projects produced in their studios.
In a continuing evolution, Leslie brings his experience in studio design, soundproofing and acoustic control to non-musical spaces. Residential homes and condominiums, offices and conference rooms, restaurants, houses of worship, medical practitioner rooms can all benefit from these techniques to create more efficient, balanced and healthy environments in which to exist.
